"Beauty will save the world". Little princesses of Tatarstan joined the campaign on cleaning the water bodies

7 July 2016, Thursday

A large-scale ecological campaign was held today in Kazan on the beach "Nizhnee Zarech'e". Fellow workers of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, members of the youth team of the Russian Geographical Society, hard-of-hearing adolescents participating in the social project "Expanding the boundaries", as well as the members of the underwater research team of the Russian Geographical Society n.a. Alexey Leonov, and young female representatives of the public organization "Little princesses of Tatarstan" collected litter today from the territory of the beach and cleaned the bottom of the water body. Participants of the first ecological rafting along the Kazanka River were met here as well. As a reminder, a day before that they started at Blue Lake in order to inspect the shores of the Kazanka River and to detect littered sites. "The amount of litter has considerably reduced", acknowledge participants of the rafting campaign, "mainly those places are littered where it is easier for people to get to". "Today we can already see the results of large-scale Saturday work campaigns that have been carried out in Tatarstan - we see more participants and less bags of litter", acknowledged the Minister for Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, Farid Abdulganiev.  It is not nearly the last joint campaign of ecological specialists and representatives of the Russian Geographical Society, informed the Minister. In the nearest future, an ecological marathon will be held along the Sviyaga and the Vyatka rivers. "This year - the Year of Water Protection Areas - we enhanced joint work, and I am sure that it won't take long to enjoy the results. The amount of the citizens of Tatarstan who opted to participate in such campaigns becomes greater day after day, which means there are no people among them who will sin against nature. I am sure that all those who joined the campaign today can be rightly called nature protectors. Especially we are glad that children have also taken part - the participants included those who are not even at school yet", noticed Farid Abdulganiev.
