Summer school of the Russian Geographical Society "Geography in a modern world: problems and prospects"

The Russian Geographical Society announces the contest for participation in the forth Youth Research and Development Summer School "Geography in a modern world: problems and prospects" that will be held in Kaluga region on August 13-21, 2016

Graduate students, Ph.D. candidates and young professionals from Russian regions and the near abroad countries are invited to participate in the event. The candidates for participation should be under 35 years of age (as on July 1, 2016). Russian is the working language of the Summer School of the RGS-2016 (fluent speakers).

The venue: the open-air ethnographic complex - a cultural and educational center "Ethnomir" ("EthnoWorld"). The aim is to train highly skilled professionals for development of modern geography as a science.

The forth summer school will be distinguished  by expansion of the sector of practice-oriented and interactive classes. A Research Steering Committee is headed by the First Vice President of the Russian Geographical Society, the President of the Geographical Faculty of Moscow State University n.a. M.V. Lomonosov, the academician Nikolay Kasimov. The participants of the projects will be able not only to attend the training program and broaden the circle of business connections, but also to present a personal project or an idea, to hear the professional opinion from experienced researchers, and to participate in joint projects.

The hosting party bears the transportation expenses of the program participants, as well as those incurred for accommodation and alimentation, and it provides the audience with all necessary handout materials and literature.

The applications are accepted before July 1, 2016.
