Inspectors of the Cis-Kama Territorial Department under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan detected unauthorized extraction of common mineral resources in the course of the state ecological monitoring of the Kama River. Sand and gravel mix was extracted using a dredger "Praga-5". In compliance with the Journal of surveying instructions, the works on the Kama River were carried out since this May 6. The volume of the excavated sand and gravel mix amounted to about 20 thousand tons. Ecological specialists estimated the damage inflicted on the nature to the amount of 2 million 240 thousand rubles. A criminal case was initiated according to Article 171 part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
