The main Russian water artery - the Volga River unites Ulyanovsk region and Tatarstan. It is necessary to consolidate the activity of the governmental authorities in constituent entities of the Russian Federation, scientists and experts working in the water-related field", reported today the Minister for Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, Farid Abdulganiev. The experience of the nature protection work of constituent entities of the Russian Federation and the matters of Volga regions on protection and preservation of nature were discussed today within the framework of the VI Volga Ecological Week in Ulyanovsk. The Volga Ecological Week is traditionally devoted to the World Date for Environment Protection and the Day of Ecological Specialist, and it includes a series of interregional ecological campaigns and events. The event aims at sustainable development of the territories, creation of the nature protection system at the level of Russian constituent entities, attraction of attention of the wide public to the issues related to environment protection, and promotion of open public activity in the field of ecology.
Participants from the regions of the Volga Federal District, Moscow and Germany came for the ecological week.
