Our country was the first one to start the celebration of the International Day of Museums. It is in Moscow that the conference was held - after that day we started to celebrate May 18th. Since then, the Day of Museums has been celebrated in Russia every year - each time under a new slogan. In 2016, the topic "Museums and sustainable development of the society" was the key topic of the holiday. The aim of the Day of Museums is to turn attention of the society to the spiritual and cultural values that have been recently created or those that have come to us from the very old times.
