Farid Abdulganiev: "As a result of implementation of nature protection programs over the last 3 years, we managed to decrease the extent of industrial emissions of pollutants by more than 22 thousand tons". The Minister for Ecology presented the exposition of Tatarstan today during the internationa exposition "ECOTECH".
In the framework of the international forum and exposition "ECOTECH" devoted to the matters of "green" economics and nature protection technologies held in Moscow, the Minister for Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan presented the exposition of the Republic of Tatarstan devoted to the improvement of the ecological situation in the Republic. The event included Head of the Executive Office of the President of the Russian Federation, Sergey Ivanov, Vice Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Alexander Khloponin, the Minister for Natural Resources and Ecology, Sergey Donskoy, Head of the Federal Service for Supervision in the Sphere of Natural Resource Use of the Russian Federation, Artem Sidorov, Head of the Federal Water Resources Agency of the Russian Federation, Marina Seliverstova, Deputy of the State Board of the Republic of Tatarstan of 5th convocation, Chair of the Committee for Ecology, Nature Use, Agricultural, Industrial and Food Policy, Takhir Khadeev, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation and Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resource Usage, as well as ministers of regional nature protection authorities.
"We realize that we won't be able to achieve economic stability without hard work in the field of ecological safety, and since we are the region of active man-induced impact, due to developed industry, oil recovery and processing, we strive for improvement in the quality of the environment together with the largest industrial companies of the Republic", acknowledged Farid Abdulganiev. He also pointed out that as a result of implementation of the nature protection program by the largest company of the Republic, Tatneft PJSC, the level of recovery of oil-associated gas in the Republic of Tatarstan was 95.2% in 2015. As a result of implementation of such programs over the last 3 years, we managed to decrease the extent of industrial emissions of pollutants by more than 22 thousand tons. These figures once again speak of understanding of the problem by the largest companies of the Republic (corporate long-term programs have been elaborated and adopted for the companies to be able to achieve good results). The latest years were held in the Republic of Tatarstan under the sign of ecology (2013 - the Year of Ecological Culture and Environment Protection, 2015 - the Year of Parks and Square gardens, 2016 - the Year of Water Protection Areas). Head of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan emphasized that over this period of time, serious steps have been made towards involvement of the population in the large-scale nature protection activity. Today, 30% of citizens of the Republic participate in the events related to environment protection. The Institute of public inspectors for nature protection was created, and each 10th protocol on the violation of the nature protection legislation is drawn up by a public inspector. A mechanism for monetary remuneration of citizens who provide operative information on the violations in the nature resources use has been implemented. Moreover, a youth ecological movement was created including now more than 5.5 thousand members, a lot of ecological and educational projects have been implemented.
On the threshold of the Confederations Cup 2017, as well as 2018 FIFA World Cup, the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, Kazan, is under the spotlight of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), particularly in the ecology-related matters, summed up the Minister for Ecology, Farid Abdulganiev.
