A new "assistant" of inspectors of the Ministry of Ecology to help register offenses The Ministry of Ecology will purchcase a quadrocopter

A quadrocopter Phantom 3 Professional will be purchased by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan - it is a device with a fully integrated intellectual system allowing to get a bird's-eye view of the surrounding world in 4K format. It will be possible to view the filming process and easily correlate the route. According to the fellow workers of the Ministry participating in the testing, a quadrocopter will be an invaluabe asset at hard-to-reach places, or in the event when a violatioin will have to be registered unnoticed.

 - The flying object is equipped with a video camera allowing  to register violations in the online mode in the form of pictures and videos, said Almaz Zakirov, Head of the State Inspection for Ecological Surveillance under the Ministry of Ecology.  - Owing to the quadrocopter we will not only be able to see, for example, illegal extraction of common mineral resources, unauthorized takeover or restriction of free access to the coastal area, discharge of waste on to the landscape, but also to register the operating machinery, the amounts and destinations, i.e. we will trace the process.  Moreover, the camera installed on the quadrocopter allows also to see car plates at a distance of 100 meters over the ground (the copter can operate at a  distance of 500 m from the ground capturing the radius of up to 2 km).

Today, the acquired device was tested at the wasteland on Novo-Davlikeevskaya str. in Mirny village.

- It is no coincidence that we have chosen this site for testing, informed Almaz Ismagilov, Deputy Head of the Central Territorial Department under the Ministry. -­ This site is always littered - people regularly dump waste here and excavate quarries.

Ecological specialists expressed hope that owing to the observation of the territory using a quadrocopter, the violations would be registered more efficiently, since it will allow to catch offenders of the nature protection legislation red-handed.
