19 April 2016, Tuesday

Senior pupils with the most comprehensive knowledge - winners and runners-up of the Regional and All-Russian stages of the Ecological Olympiad in 2016 - met today with the First Deputy Minister for Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustem Kamalov.

A team of young ecological specialists was the second largest team at the All-Russian stage held in Yekaterinburg - all in all, 31 pupils participated in the competitions (a team from Moscow was the first largest comprising 41 pupils). As it was acknowledged at the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tatarstan, the pupils from Tatarstan set a series of records during the final stage. In particular, 18 pupils were announced winners and runners-up following the results of the All-Russian Olympiad - no team has ever brought so many medal places after so many years of participation of the Republic in it.

A diploma of a winner or a runner-up entitles the person to the out-of-competition admission to any specialized higher educational institution of the Russian Federation. During the meeting with the Deputy Minister for Ecology, the pupils shared their plans for the future related to education, i.e. what educational institutions they are planning on entering. Besides Kazan State Medical University and Kazan Federal University, the list includes Moscow State Institute of International Relations (ecology) and other educational institutions of Russia. In his turn, Rustem Kamalov told about nature protection campaigns and contests held by the Ministry of Ecology and suggested young people actively participate in them. In conclusion, Rustem Kamalov wished the pupils success in their work on new projects.
