Volunteers are needed to carry out work at the Polistovsky Reserve during the spring-summer season who are willing to assist the fellow workers of the Reserve in arrangement out of eco-camps for pupils.
Volunteers will need to carry out research work with children, as well as various eco-oriented games, interactive lessons, various master classes, as well as the classes on orienteering and various contests. The working months of volunteer camps: June 20-24, May-August 2016. The Reserve also needs volunteers who are willing to assist in carrying out of geobotanical descriptions and monitoring, excursions for tourists, repair of eco-paths and waste removal.
During their work at the camp, the volunteers will be able to visit excursions of the reserve and author's excursions of locals free of charge, to participate in master classes of traditional crafts, get acquainted with nature of upland bogs and the history of the Polistovsky Territory.
For reference: The Polistovsky Reserve is located in Pskov Region. It protects the western part of the Polistovo-Lovatskaya swamp system, the largest raised swamp system in Europe. The raised swamp system of the Reserve occupies the central place in the regulation of a hydrological regime in the North-Western region of the Russian Federation; it is a unique and the largest in Europe, the only filter of fresh water; it is the only natural system preventing accumulation of СО2in the atmosphere and the habitat of certain rare species of flora and fauna entered in the Red Book of the Russian Federation.
