An area-based seminar-meeting on the most burning matters of local governance was held today in Elabuga under the chairmanship of the Chairperson of the Council of municipal units of the Republic of Tatarstan Minsagit Shakirov. More than 150 heads of communities from 5 districts of the Republic (Elabuga, Kukmor, Mendeleevsk, Mamadysh, Agryz) participated in it. Deputy Minister for Ecology and Natural Resources - Chief State Inspector of the Republic of Tatarstan for Nature Protection Fayaz Shakirov reported on the two-month sanitary and ecological campaign in the Republic of Tatarstan. He reminded one more time that a whole spectrum of supervisory powers was present at the local level - from drawing up protocols by authorized officials to determination of sentencing in the form of fines for violation of the beautification rules. Moreover, heads of communities, heads of executive committees of communities, deputy heads (secretaries) of executive committees of communities, other officals of executive committees of communities empowered to exercise municipal control are also entitled to draw up protocols on administrative violations of the beautification rules. Although the carried out analysis shows that not all municipal districts have been using the given powers to the fullest extent possible. The main extent of work on sanitary and ecological cleaning of the territory of the Republic should be finished by May holidays, emphasized Shakirov.
