Kazan was included in the list of the most active cities of Russia participating in the campaign “Earth Hour-2016”

The results of the “Earth Hour” campaign were summarized in Tatarstan. According to the estimates of the experts,saved energy amounted to90MWt. As a reminder, the campaign was held on March 19th under the aegis of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan.

         During the campaign in Kazan, architectural and decorative highlighting of the Reserve Museum “Kazan Kremlin” in Kazan was switched offalong with lighting ofbuildings of the Cabinet of Ministers of theRepublic of Tatarstan and the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Big Concert Hall named after Salikh Saydashev, and the IT-park. Kazan Town Hall also joined the campaign having switched off illumination of buildings of district administrations and Kazan City Hall. According to the nature protection organization “World Wildlife Fund”, Kazan was included in the list of the most active cities of Russia that participated in the “Earth Hour-2016” campaign.

         The campaign is held on the annual basis on the last Saturday of March on the initiative of the World Wildlife Fund, and itsymbolizes solidarity of citizens of various countries in solution of issues regarding energy and resource saving, as well asimprovement of ecological situation on the planetary scale.
