The Minister for Ecology participated in the research-to-practice conference of pupils “A STEP TO SCIENCE – 2016”

The ХIresearch-to-practice conference of pupils “A STEP TO SCIENCE – 2016” devoted to the problem of Ecological culture and the Year of water protection areas announced in the Republic of Tatarstan was held today at specialized school No. 3 of Kazan. In his welcome speech, headmaster of the specialized school, Alexander Morozov, acknowledged that this year more than 200 pieces of work of pupils from Kazan were devoted to the matters of ecology, and he also added that special attention at the educational institution had always been paid to the nature protection theme. He also acknowledged that such events promote development of cognition interest in pupils since they involve materials beyond the scope of the school curricula, and they are aimed at enhancement in the skills of pupils in all subjects. After that he turned the floor over to the former pupil who graduated with honors from the ecology specialized schoolNo. 3 (today’s specialized school No. 3) – the Minister for Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, Farid Abdulganiev. According to the Minister, understanding of the ecology-related matters springs at educational institutions.“Children who invest efforts and obtain new knowledge, understand from school-days what is violation of the nature protection legislation.Ecology means preservation of resources,energy saving, careful attitude to everything that surrounds us urging to clean and puteverything in order. It is hard to overestimate the influence of family and school here”, - acknowledged Farid Abdulganiev. The Minister ran back to his school years: “When I was a pupil, we had a lesson at the specialized school No. 3 called “Ecological path”, where in the urban setting teachers managed to instill the love of nature and get across to us the importance of preserving the environment. At the end of his speech, the Head of the Ministry of Ecology said that pieces of work presented at the research-to-practice conference would be reviewed by experts of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan in order to further implement the best projects and ideas. The following topics were considered in the “Ecological culture and nature protection”field:“Waste in a large city”, “Study of snow cover pollution”, “Waste differs: it can be dirty, useful, and dangerous!”, “My personal contribution into the nature protection activity”, “Atmospheric current – an alternative sources of electrical energy”, “Sewage waters. Their impact on the environment. Ways of treatment of sewage waters in Kazan”, and others.

The projects were presented in Russian, Tatar, and English languages.
