The program for separate waste collection started in Innopolis

Special containers were installed at the residential complex of Innopolis for collection ofrecyclable materials. Dual collection is used to facilitate separate waste collection.Such a system envisages installation of additional containers at the sites for all recyclable materials including waste paper, plastic bottles, and polyethylene. The contents of these containers are further removed to the sorting center, wherespecially trained specialists divide recyclable materials into fractions, which will further be processed.The Volga Ecological Company is the partner of the project. Moreover, a campaign was held on the day of installation of containers for the citizens of Innopolis: bring recyclable materials and get a gift. The citizens participated in the campaign along with Innopolis University, by the efforts whereof about a ton of recyclable materials was collected.

Not only can Innopolis become a positive example for other districts and cities, but it can also be the research platform aimed at studying of problems and tasks of the separate waste collection matter.
