All in all, 98.3% of violations revealed by inspectors of the Central Territorial Department in 2015 have been liquidated

All in all, 98.3% of violations revealed in 2015 by inspectors of the Central Territorial Department under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan in the field of nature protection legislation, have been liquidated. Specialists of the Department carried out 3,425 inspections and revealed 2,300 violations, whereof 2,261 have already been liquidated, as it was reported today during the Business Monday at the Executive Committee of Kazan by Head of the Central Territorial Department under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, Ilkham Sabirov. He acknowledged that in the last 3 years Kazan went up in the ranking of ecological development of Russian cities by 37 spots. While in 2012 the capital of Tatarstan was ranked the 45th, in 2013 it took the 16th place, and in 2014 – it was the 8th. According to the Head of the Central Territorial Department, motor vehicles account for about 72% of pollutions. Year after year, the specialists of the Department together with fellow workers of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate carry out the “Clean Air” campaign using fixed monitoring stations. Within a year, about 1,000 cars were inspected, 218 facts of exceedance in the level of pollutants were revealed, and, thus, 218 protocols were drawn up.

The Head of the Central Territorial Department highlighted active position of the citizens of the Republic with regard to detection and prevention of offences. During 2015, inspectors of the Central Territorial Department reviewed 94 addresses received through the “People’s control” system.  Ilkham Sabirov also drew attention to the monetary remuneration that will be paid out to those active citizens of the Republic who report on the fact of violation of the nature protection legislation. The person, who managed to photograph or make video registration of the fact of waste discharge or illegal quarry development, will receive 1,500 rubles. The Institute of Public Inspectors in the Field of Nature Protection was created by the Ministry of Ecology in the context of engagement of socially active population in the supervisory work. In 2015, public inspectors participated in 271 inspections.
