The Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation will open the Center for implementation of new ozone-safe technologies in 2016

8 February 2016, Monday

The Center for implementation of new technologies into production of pre-insulated pipes with the use of foam enhancers safe for the ozone layer and the climate of the Earth will open in April 2016 in Moscow. Implementation of the project was possible owing to the activity of the Union of manufacturers and consumers of eco-friendly items made from foam polyurethane (the Union). It was created in the framework of implementation of the Project of UNIDO/GEF-Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of Russia “Incremental reduction in consumption of hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HFC) and fostering of transfer to energy-efficient HFC-free cooling equipment in Russia by transfer of technology”, as it is reported on the official website of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation.

The Union that includes two field associations and the largest companies of the sector of foam materials aims at rendering of assistance to manufacturers and consumers of items made from foam polyurethane in refusal to use ozone-destroying substances in technological operations and in their conversion to the technologies safe for the ozone layer of the air and the climate of the Earth. Commencement of the Center for implementation of new technologies into production of pre-insulated pipes with the use of foam enhancers safe for the ozone layer and the climate of the Earth was one of the most significant results of the activity of the Union.

The main tasks of the Centre include studying of physical and mechanical indicators of foam with the use of ozone-safe foam enhancers, development of ozone-safe compositions of polyol components in order to enhance conversion of the sector of pre-insulated pipes to ozone-safe technologies, and testing of finished goods.

Moreover, the Center is engaged in elaboration, preparation and approval of the regulatory documents (Technical Specifications, Industry Standards, Specifications, and so on) for the obtained products, as well as implementation of the systems of components with ozone-safe foaming agents into the large-scale production of pre-insulated pipes in Russia.

Official opening of the Center will take place on April 15, 2016. The event will be held with participation of the representatives of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of Russia and other federal executive authorities, United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the International Center of Scientific and Technical Information, as well as heads of the largest associations and leading companies of the sector of foam materials.
