The XVI Municipal Open Ecological Forum "ZILANT 2016"
The XVI Municipal Open Ecological Forum “ZILANT” for the pupils of grades 8-11 will be held today at the Culture and Sports Centre of Kazan Federal University “Uniks”. “Problems of soil protection in the Republic of Tatarstan” is the topic of the Forum. This year, special attention will be paid to the section of large-scale arrangements (propaganda teams) and nature protection section, active participants whereof will be awarded with diplomas of the Central Territorial Department under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan
Focus areas and nominations of the Forum:
- Research and development area of focus. Reports will be presented in 8 sections: “Flora, Plant Ecology”, “Fauna, Animal Ecology”, “Bio-indication”, “Water Projects, Hydro-Ecology”, “Agricultural Ecology”, “Homo Sapiens: Social Ecology, Psychology”, “Industrial Ecology”, “Human Health and Ecology”.
- Large-scale arrangements (nomination - propaganda teams). The extent of topic expansion is evaluated along with freshness, expressiveness of performance, and scenario (the report should be fully structured before submission during the section). Seven propaganda teams will take part in the nomination – one team from each district of the city.
- Nature protection area of focus “Preservation of Bio-Diversity and Problems of Protection of Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan”. The reports on the carried out nature protection work will be presented during this section if they reflect personal activity aimed at solution of environment protection problems – cleaning and beautification of urban and suburban areas, beautification and landscaping of school areas, hanging of feed-boxes and feeding of wintering birds, making and hanging of nesting boxes, arrangement and holding of various nature protection events etc.
- Education-related area of focus on the subject of the Forum. The contest is held by correspondence in three nominations: wall newspapers, creative writing (essay), and posters.
The event has been held since 2001. It is aimed at the arrangement of optimal conditions for intellectual and creative self-expression of pupils, as well as at assistance in preliminary career guidance of senior pupils. The Board of Education under the Executive Committee of Kazan, Central Territorial Department under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, Municipal Children’s Ecological and Biological Centre, and Kazan Federal (Volga Region) University are the organizers of the event.
