An address from the citizens of Kazan was received today by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan with regard to pollution of the lake in Zalesny village. Inspectors of the Central Territorial Department and the experts of the Central Specialized Inspection of Analytical Control under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan revealed that sewage waters with characteristic smell were discharged into the lake. Specialists of the Central Specialized Inspection of Analytical Control drew the samples of sewage waters to carry out chemical and toxicological analyses. Moreover, the air samples were also drawn. Such indicators as nitrogen oxide, nitrogen dioxide, ammonia, carbon oxide, sulphur dioxide, and total hydrocarbons were tested on-site using a mobile ecological laboratory. MPC (one time concentration) for the air wasn’t exceeded. The air sample was also taken to the Central Specialized Inspection of Analytical Control to test for aromatic hydrocarbons and to carry out further studies using a fixed-site laboratory.
