How did sanitary sewage appear on the landscape? Ecological specialists will analyze the samples of polluted soil

Citizens of the Volga district of Kazan addressed the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan complaining of the smell of sewage runoff. Inspectors of the Central Territorial Department under the Ministry visited the scene. It emerged that discharge of sanitary sewage on to the landscape near 36 Kul Gali str. was the reason for the pungent smell. Ecological specialists established that the relevant sanitary well was damaged. Specialists of the Central Specialized Inspection of Analytical Control under the Ministry of Ecology drew the samples of polluted soil for further analysis. The work on identification of persons involved in the violation is being carried out. The offenders are to be held liable under Article 8.1 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation “Failure to comply with ecological requirements when carrying out city-planning activities and when operating the companies, constructions or other facilities”; and under Article 8.2 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation “Failure to comply with ecological and sanitary and epidemiological requirements when managing production and consumption waste, and handling the substances destroying the ozone layer, or other hazardous substances”. The representatives of the nearby managing companies have been informed for the purposes of corrective actions.
