The ceremony of launching of business standard gas “Euro-5” was held today in Nizhnekamsk. The President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov participated in the solemn event. TAIF-NK” starts releasing eco-class gas being in advance of the technical guidelines of the Government of the Russian Federation “On the requirements to motor and aviation gas, diesel and marine fuel for jet engines and residual oil”. Meanwhile, release of lower class gas types will be completely ceased. The President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov acknowledged high-level environmental friendliness of the product, which will allow to decrease discharges of motor vehicles in cities and communities of the Republic. The new fuel doesn’t contain the hazardous substance monomethylanilin, and the content of sulfur is considerably decreased as compared to gas of the “Euro-4” standard. According to the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Farid Abdulganiev, this will allow to considerably decrease the negative impact on the environment. It is no wonder since motor vehicles account for more than 70% of air pollution in cities and communities of Tatarstan. Moreover, the use of high quality and eco-friendly gas by vehicle owners will considerably lessen the burden.
Moreover, Rustam Minnikhanov visited the complex under construction for deep processing of heavy still bottoms – the investment project is implemented by “TAIF-NK”. The first foundation stone was laid into the new complex in November 2012. The complex for deep processing of heavy still bottoms includes installation of tar hydrocracking, initiation of production of hydrogen, sulfur, as well as a series of ancillary installations, and parks of commodities and raw materials. The complex is based on advanced technologies allowing to process heavy still bottoms transforming them into light high quality petroleum products, including diesel fuel at least of the “Euro 5” quality grade. When the complex is put into operation, oil processing at “TAIF-NK” will become practically wasteless.
