The III Kazan International Tourist Forum “Benchmarks of the Future” is held today in Kazan. The President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Deputy Head of the Federal Tourism Agency Sergey Korneev, chairperson of the State Committee for Tourism of the Republic of Tatarstan Sergey Ivanov participate in the event. The Forum is held together with the World Communication Forum in Davos. It is mainly aimed at creation of the open discussion platform for the parties concerned in the tourism development to exchange experience and effectively interact. It allows to discuss all the most burning problems in the field of tourism, to discover the prospects for the development of new trends and exchange important experience. Conventionally, the Forum gathers fellow workers of the largest travel agencies of Russia and foreign countries, representatives of authorities, as well as investors and analysts. More than 30 leading specialists from Russia, Italy, Spain, Great Britain, USA, Hungary, Netherlands, Republic of Belarus, and Latvia have prepared reports. All in all, there are 800 participants including heads of executive authorities in the field of tourism from regions of the Russian Federation, directors of large Russian and foreign companies involved in the field of tourism and hotel industry.
The Republic of Tatarstan enjoys rich natural, as well as historical and cultural potential (Bolgar State Historical and Architectural Reserve Museum; Bilyar State Historical and Architectural Reserve Museum; Spassky natural reserve; the site of ancient town Suvar; the territory of Elabuga State Historical, Architectural and Art Reserve Museum, the National Park “Nizhnyaya Kama”; Chistopol Tourist Area, natural reserve “Chistye Luga”; ancient settlement sites of Zhukotinskoe principality of the Volga-Kama Bulgaria, Kutlushkino village; Zelenodolsk district – Raifa, the island-city of Sviyazhsk; Verkhny Uslon district - Pechischi, Medvedkovo; Laishevo district – Laishevo, Derzhavino, Nikolskoe, Sokury; Pestretsy district – Pestretsy village, Kokushkinsky nature reserve, the Mesha River; Arsk district – Arsk, Kyrlay, Koshlauch, botanical and zoological complex nature monuments and so on). The eco-tourism development will allow citizens and guests of the Republic to familiarize more closely with specially protected natural areas, state reserves, nature reserves, and nature museums, as well as the unique nature zones to enhance their social importance.
The Forum was organized under the aegis of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Federal Tourism Agency, and the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan.
