The Minister for Ecology Farid Abdulganiev gave instructions to enhance control over liquidation of illegal landfills

A helicopter over-flight was carried out today across districts of the Republic of Tatarstan to reveal violations of the nature protection legislation. The Minister for Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, Farid Abdulganiev, together with the Deputy Minister for Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan – Chief State Inspector for Nature Protection, Ramil Nizamov, and Head of the Central Territorial Department under the Ministry, Ilkham Sabirov, inspected the territories of Kazan, Zelenodolsk, Verkhny Uslon, Vysokaya Gora, Pestretsy and Laishevo municipal units of the Republic of Tatarstan. All in all, 20 violations were revealed in the course of the over-flight including quarry development in Zelenodolsk and Pestretsy districts of the Republic, whereby the measures of administrative influence have been implemented. The Minister entrusted Ramil Nizamov with a task to implement the measures aimed at verification of licenses for extraction of common mineral resources in the Volga River area. Moreover, the sites of illegal waste placement were revealed on the territories of the above mentioned districts. Head of the Central Territorial Department was instructed to carry out the work aimed at identification of the land owners and to control liquidation of these landfills. Following the results of the over-flight, inspectors of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan will implement the measures of administrative influence, while the information on the violations was referred to heads of the above indicated municipal units to implement the relevant measures.
