Fellow workers of the Ministry of Ecology chose public transportation over motor vehicles

The world campaign “Car-free Day” is held today. It is meant to remind of the negative impact of motor vehicles on the environment and urge people to the idea of using alternative means of transportation, for instance, public transportation, bikes and other means.

Traditionally, on this day fellow workers of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan get to work by public transportation means, by bikes or on foot. The parking lot adjacent to the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan is empty today.

Today, there are more than 1,190 thousand vehicles in the Republic of Tatarstan. Discharges of pollutants from vehicle emissions amount to about 323.9 thousand tons, which accounts for 52% of the total volume of emissions in the Republic of Tatarstan.
