A meeting with students was held at Kazan Federal University on the topic “Presidential elections in Tatarstan is the main political event of 2015”
The First Deputy Minister for Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustem Kamalov met today with students and teaching staff of Kazan Federal University n.a. V.I. Lenin. The following matters were discussed in the framework of the meeting: results of development of the Republic of Tatarstan in the last 5 years; planning of events aimed at improvement of the environment quality; development of cloud technologies and geo-information systems; implementation of unique social programs and large-scale projects. According to the First Deputy Minister for Ecology, in the last 5 years Tatarstan took a quality leap in its development having become the model region of Russia. Tatarstan today is a self-sufficing, distinctive and competitive constituent member of the Russian Federation. The largest investment projects are implemented here including a complex of oil-refining and petrochemical plants “TANECO”, a complex of modern oil-refining productions “TAIF-NK”, an integrated complex on production of ammonia, methanol and granulated carbamide “Ammonium”. IT-field is also rapidly developing, and the first buildings of Innopolis have already been put into operation. Moreover, Rustem Kamalov acknowledged that due to the work carried out by an expert team headed by the President, the Republic of Tatarstan has taken the lead with regard to the key economic indices and it dominates the country in terms of various ratings. On summarizing the results of work of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustem Kamalov informed that development of cloud technologies and geo-information systems provided a great opportunity to improve supervisory activity, monitoring of the state of the environment, accessibility for the population, the possibility to visualize local ecological situations in the online mode, which allows to evaluate the situation in an integrated manner and identify the factors that hinder enhancement of the ecological situation in general.
At the end of the meeting, on the premises of Kazan Federal University the First Deputy Minister for Ecology, Rustem Kamalov, awarded the winners of the Scientific Award n.a. professor Victor Alekseevich Popov, a distinguished scientist and ecological expert. The Award n.a. Victor Alekseevich Popov is awarded for scientific pieces of work, discoveries and inventions or on the basis of a career of published work with great scientific and practical importance for solution of ecological safety problems in the Republic of Tatarstan in order to encourage scientists for their work, scientific discoveries and inventions in the field of ecology and rational use of natural resources that are of high importance both for science and practice.
