During the open water competitions, the state of the Kazanka water facility will be monitored online

24 July 2015, Friday

Enhanced control over the state of the Kazanka River during open water competitions in the framework of the XVI World Aquatics Championship will be ensured by means of an eco-analytical vessel “Flamingo”. The complex is equipped with a system of immersion sensors that ensure continuous measurement of the main physical and chemical parameters at two depths (temperature, conductivity, water salt content, concentration of oxygen and hydrogen ions in water, and oxidation-reduction potential), which allows to operatively monitor the state of water. All the data from immersion sensors will be transferred in the online mode to the computer center of the station, where they will be processed and displayed on the monitor in a graphic mode. At the same time, water samples will be drawn from the same depths in a continuous mode, and the water will be conveyed to the board instruments of express chemical analysis to determine concentrations of pollutants in water (oil products, nitrate-, nitrite-, phosphate-, fluoride-, chloride-ions, ions of ammonium, copper etc.) using flow and flow injection analyzers. Earlier analyses showed that water quality in the Kazanka River complies with all the sanitary and hygienic requirements.
