The ceremony of start-up of production of sodium hypochlorite at the water purification station “Chelnyvodokanal” LLC

The ceremony of start-up of production of low-concentrate sodium hypochlorite at the water purification station “Chelnyvodokanal” LLC was held today in Naberezhnye Chelny. Representatives of state authorities, nature protection authorities of the Republic – Head of Cis-Kama Territorial Department under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Nail Garipov, as well as experts of industrial companies and water and wastewater treatment plants of Kazan, St. Petersburg, Almetyevsk, Izhevsk and Ufa took part in the event. 

The project is aimed at implementation of safer and more effective methods for deactivation of potable water, and transfer of the system of deactivation of the water treatment production from liquid chlorine to sodium hypochlorite. Sodium hypochlorite is as effective as liquid chlorine, but at the same time it is safe during production and storage. The use of sodium hypochlorite and UV treatment of water during water conditioning and purification guarantees complete sanitary, epidemiological, and ecological safety. Sodium hypochlorite ensures elimination of the main species of bacteria, while UV neutralized viruses.
