A straight talk was held regarding ecology
A meeting of entrepreneurs of the Republic of Tatarstan with the Minister for Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Artem Sidorov was held today in Kazan. Representatives of more than 60 organizations of the Republic gathered at the conference hall of “Ramada” Hotel, and the meeting was held in the framework of the project “Business and authority: a straight talk”. Commissioner for the President of the Republic of Tatarstan for Protection of Entrepreneurs’ Rights Timur Nagumanov was the organizer and moderator of the meeting. The majority of matters concerned future amendments to the legislation. According to Artem Sidorov, we are now in the transitional phase, when new ecological legislation and new standards are being elaborated. In general, all these amendments are aimed at improvement of the condition of entrepreneurs, acknowledged the Minister of Ecology. In particular, this will touch upon the laws that concern waste management, as well as amendments to the law on nature protection that introduce standardization and categorization of companies, change the procedure for issuance of permits and simplify the issues regarding payment for the negative impact.
Moreover, entrepreneurs spoke about waste management, in particular, hazardous waste, construction of treatment facilities and process of obtainment licenses for the use of mineral resources.
Timur Nagumanov named today’s meeting a “preventative” one. He acknowledged that today entrepreneurs have no burning ecology-related matters. Such meetings will prevent them in the future, acknowledged Commissioner for the President of the Republic of Tatarstan for Protection of Entrepreneurs’ Rights. Artem Sidorov expressed hope that the meeting wouldn’t be the last one, and the dialog between business and authorities will be continued. According to him, such meetings will allow to establish necessary contacts and relations.
