The II Republican Open Field Olympiad of Young Geologists is held in Kazan

The II Republican Field Olympiad of Young Geologists of Tatarstan is held in Kazan at the recreation camp “Zarechye”. All in all, 30 teams from the Republic of Tatarstan, a team from Bakhchisaray district of the Republic of Crimea and a team from the Republic of Kazakhstan take part in it. A training program for young geologists regarding arrangement of the field camp, heavy mineral concentrate sampling, and basics of oil geology is envisaged in the framework of the specialized shift. Participants of the Olympiad will participate in various competitions and contests to define those with the best knowledge in mineralogy, paleontology, and radiometry. Moreover, cultural events will be organized for children. Following the results of the Olympiad, a national team of the Republic of Tatarstan will be created to participate in the X All-Russian Open Field Olympiad of Young Geologists that will be held from July 30 to August 10, 2015 in Tyumen. The II Open Field Olympiad of Young Geologists will finish on July 14, 2015.
