The meeting of the ecological board devoted to the matters of development of the air quality management system was held in St. Petersburg

The 3rdmeetingoftheFederalEcologicalBoardwasheldtodayinSt. PetersburgunderthechairmanshipoftheMinisterforNaturalResourcesandEcologyoftheRussianFederationSergeyDonskoyfeaturing “DevelopmentoftheairqualitymanagementsystemandexercisebyconstituententitiesoftheRussianFederationoftheir authorities delegatedinthisfield”. ParticipantsofthemeetingincludedmembersoftheFederationCounciloftheRussianFederation, head of nature protection ministries and authorities of Russian regions, as well as representatives of public ecological organizations. The Minister for Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Artem Sidorov made a report on creation in the Republic of Tatarstan of the system of consolidated estimation of air pollutionin order to make town-planning solutions and plan public cultural and sports events. TheMinisterinformedthattoensureairprotectionandarrangeresponsemeasurestoitspollutionintheRepublicofTatarstan, theterritorial system for air surveillance has been functioning since 2007 and it is now an integral element of the state system of observations.Currently, this system in the Republic of Tatarstan consists of16 automatic stations for air pollution control. Toensurequickresponsetothefactsofincreasedairpollutionand detect a possible source of pollution, the Ministry also uses 5 mobile ecological laboratories on the basis of “Ford Transit” cars equipped with a complex of devicesanalogous to the complex of devices at automatic stations. Moreover, the structure of the Ministry of Ecology of Tatarstan presupposes 8 state-of-art eco-analytical stationarylaboratories.All of them are equipped with modern devices that determine main and specific pollutants.Moreover, ArtemSidorovreportedontheworkcarriedoutintheRepublic of Tatarstanregarding creation of systems for consolidated estimationof air pollution in large cities.
