Themeetingofthe Public Chamber committee was held in Kazan on the matters of ecology and infrastructure of live-sustaining activity of citizens

Anextendedmeetingofthe Public Chamber committee was held today for the first time in Kazan on the matters of ecology and infrastructure of live-sustaining activity of citizens. The event was aimed at improvement of relations between state authorities and public with regard to the matters of ecological safety. TheeventwasheldunderthechairmanshipofAnatolyFomin –theChairpersonofthePublicChamberoftheRepublicofTatarstan— and it includedrepresentatives of state authorities of the Republic of Tatarstan and representatives of public and educational organizations. The Minister for Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Artem Sidorov made a principal report. He acknowledged that ecological safety required strategic solutions. Today such work is carried out, the strategy of ecological safety of the Russian Federation is discussed, and regions take active part in such discussionsincluding representatives of the Republic of Tatarstan. ArtemSidorovinformedthattheMinistryforNaturalResources and Ecology of Russia elaborated a document–Strategy for Ecological Safety of the Russian Federation until 2025.The Strategy for social and economic development of the Republic of Tatarstan until 2030 has been approved of by law of the Republic of Tatarstan. Theissueofnecessitytoensureecologicalsafety as one of characteristics of a successful region has been included almost into every section of the Strategy.

Itisimpossibletoensurecomprehensive control over the state of the Republic of Tatarstan without active public participation, it was acknowledged by the Minister of Ecology of Tatarstan. Accordingtohim,the Institute of Public Control provides considerable assistance and support in prevention of violations of nature protection legislation. He also acknowledged successful implementation in supervisory activity of the state information system “People’s control”, positive work of the Institute of public inspectors for nature protection, and the voluntary movement “BUDETCHISTO!”. In order to join the efforts of ecological specialists and public representatives, it was decided to regularly hold such meetings under the Public Chamber of Tatarstan. According to the Minister of Ecology Artem Sidorov, this will promote successful solution of strategic tasks in the field of ecological safety of the Republic.
