An express analysis was carried out on the Kazanka River, and the results showed that the water corresponds with sanitary and hygienic norms

Today, inspectors of the Central Territorial Department together with specialists of the Central specialized inspection of analytical control under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstandrew samples of natural water in the water area of the Kazanka River. IntheframeworkofthepreparationfortheXVI WorldAquaticsChampionship, expertsofthelaboratoryensure enhanced surveillance over the state of the Kazanka River: samples of natural waters are drawn on a daily basis in 9 places, quantitative chemical analysis is carried out in the laboratory, on the average, regarding 30 indicators, and, moreover, toxicological analysis is carried out for each sample. Anexpressanalysisofdissolvedoxygenandammonium ion, which is indicative offecal contamination, was carried out. Theresultsarenormal, and water in the area of the Kazanka River complies with sanitary and hygienic norms. AccordingtotheDeputyMinisterforEcologyandNaturalResources–ChiefStateInspectoroftheRepublicofTatarstanforNatureProtection,Ramil Nizamov, fellow workers of the Ministry together with specialists of the Kazan Interdisrtict Nature Protection Prosecutor’s Office and the Tatar Interdistrict Nature Protection Prosecutor’s Office, Department of theFederal Service for Supervision of Natural Resource Usage for the Republic of Tatarstan regularly implement surveillance measures regardingdetection of illegal discharges into the Kazanka River. Moreover, focused work is also carried out with companies and organizations located in the water-collection area of the Kazanka. Allindustrialeffluentsgetting into the river pass throughwaste treatment facilities. Violationsofthetermsofoperationofthelatter, violationoftheauthorizationforwateruse, unauthorized occupation of the water facility and placement of waste in the water protection area were detected together with surveillance authorities. Interim Tatar Nature Protection Interdistrict Prosecutor Igor Pluschev informed that currently 38 municipal companies have been inspected includingboth small and large enterprises involved in various activities. Suchsurveillanceactionswillbecontinued.

StartingJuly 1, 2015 specialistsoftheCentralspecializedinspectionofanalyticalcontrolundertheMinistryofEcologyandNaturalResourcesoftheRepublicofTatarstanwillcarryoutdailycontroloverthestateoftheKazankaRiver. Moreover, thelaboratorywill work intensely during the World Aquatics Championship. Swimmingandhighdivingcompetitionswillbe held on the Kazanka River.
