Inspectors of the Ministry of Ecology prevented illegal extraction of mineral resources

On May 22, 2015, inspectors of the State Ecological Surveillance under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan organized a raid to the Volga district of Kazan in compliance with address of citizens to the Ministry’s hotline. The fact of illegal quarry development, namely sand, was revealed in the course of the raid near Mirny village. The mineral resources were used without an appropriate license. Upon arrival to the site, inspectors found 4 KAMAZ trucks loaded with sand, two motor vehicles and an excavator. Together with Police officers of the Police Department No. 10 “Industrial” of the Department under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for Kazan, they apprehended offenders involved in this violation, and the latter gave their explanations. Photo and video materials were drawn up, and at present the work on identification of owners of the above indicated equipment is carried out. The damage inflicted on the environment is being estimated.
