AmeetingoftheV.A. Popov Prize Committee was held at the Ministry of Ecology

AmeetingoftheV.A. PopovPrizeCommitteeestablishedbytheAcademyofSciencesoftheRepublicofTatarstan, theMinistryofEcologyandNaturalResourcesoftheRepublicofTatarstanandKazan (Volga) FederalUniversitywasheld at theMinistryofEcologyandNaturalResourcesoftheRepublicofTatarstan. V.A. PopovPrizeisawardedforresearchwork, discoveriesandinventions, oritisawardedforacollectionofscientificpiecesofworkthathavegreatscientificorpracticalimportanceforsolutionof problems related to ecological safety of the Republic of Tatarstan in order to encourage scientists for scientific work, scientific discoveries and inventions in the field of ecology and rational nature use that are of great scientific and practical importance.

Prize Committee members reviewed pieces of work presented for the contest in 2015. TheCommitteeincludedFirstDeputyMinisterforEcologyandNaturalResourcesoftheRepublicofTatarstanRustemKamalov, Chairperson of the Scientific Board for Ecological Problems under the Presidium of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan, Department Head of theKazan (Volga) Federal University Venera Latypova, Councilor of the Presidium of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan, academician Akhat Ilyasov,Director of the Institute for Ecology and Nature Use undertheKazan (Volga) Federal University, Doctor of biological sciences, professor Svetlana Selivanovskaya, Deputy Director of the Institute of Fundamental Medicine and Biology, Candidate of biological sciences,assistant professor Rushan Sabirov, Deputy Director of the Institute for the Problems of Ecology and Subsurface Resources Managementof the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan, Candidate of biological sciences Dmitry Ivanov, Head of Department for Ecological Education and Interaction with Public Organizations under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Damir Valiullin. 

Twoindependentexpertswereassignedforeachpresentedpiece of work, and they referred their expert evaluations to the Prize Committee.DecisionofthePrizeCommitteeafterapprovalatanextendedmeetingoftheScientific Board for Ecological Problems under the Presidium of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan with participation of representatives of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan and Kazan Federal University,as well as brief abstract about the prize-winning workwill be published in the Republican mass media.
