The XV International Forum “Big City Ecology”

The forum “Big City Ecology” started today in St. Petersburg.The event is held with support of the Committee for Nature, Environment Protection and Ecological Safety Assurance of St. Petersburg Government. Two seminar meetings will be held on March 18th: nature protection authorities of constituent entities of the Russian Federation and cities, as well as ecological boards of regions and cities. The conference“Relevant issues regarding nature protection in Russian cities” will be held on the same day. Three seminars are planned for March 19th: “Arrangement of eco-monitoring on the territory of cities”; “Information support of nature protection activity”; “Problems of collection and processing of batteries and rechargeable batteries”. Permanent Committee for Ecology of the Parliament Association of the North-West of Russia will hold the forum, where, among other things, the matters regarding funding of actions aimed at reconstruction of water supply, water discharge and sewage water purification facilities will be discussed along with amendments to the legal framework in the field of waste management.  The forum will close on March 20th.
