The ХXIVolga Research Ecological Conference for Pupils named after A.M. Terentyevis held in Kazan

The ХXIVolga Research Ecological Conference for Pupils named after A.M. Terentyevstarted today at school No. 150 of Volga District in Kazan. The conference is meant to stimulate research and development activity of pupils and to determine the level of their ecological knowledge and skills, as well as to support unconventional forms of ecological education and upbringing.

           More than 170 pupils from 37 districts and cities of the Republic of Tatarstan, and Kazan,as well as representatives of Vladimir region andthe Udmurtian Republic participate in the conference.

The conference is divided into9sections: general ecology, industrial and chemical ecology, human ecology, bioindication and biomonitoring, preservation of biological diversity, protection and rational use of water resources, agricultural ecology, practical nature protection activity, and urban ecology. Pupils’ reports touch upon various aspects of ecology, namely relationship between man and nature, the methods for assessment of the state of natureandman-induced complexes, optimization of nature protection activity, ecology and flora and fauna, and the possibilities for prevention of industrial, agricultural and domestic contamination are analyzed.
