Kazan Ecological Contest “Zilant”

Kazan Ecological and Biological Center holds a City open ecological forum “Zilant”. Pupils of educational establishments of Kazan from 8th to 11th forms can participate in the contest.Pieces of work – photographs, essays, wall papers, and poems–are accepted in the following categories: “Industrial ecology”, “Water projects”, “Homo Sapiens: social ecology, psychology”, “Flora, ecology of plants”, “Fauna, ecology of animals”, “Bio-indication”. The section“Preservation of biodiversity and the problems of protection of natural resources of the Republic of Tatarstan” will operate in the framework of the contest, wherereports on the carried out nature protection projects will be listened to. Assessment criteria include practicalsignificance and justification of the current problem; setting of goals and tasks; originality of approaches (independent authors’ opinion on the problemof interest), the extent of executed work, the extent of implementation of nature protection project; the quality of report execution. Research projects are not reviewed in this section.
Pieces of work will be accepted until January23, 2015.
