A coordination meeting of heads of nature protection authorities

A coordination meeting of heads of law-enforcement agencies was held on September 24that the Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Tatarstanwith regard to the issues of enhancement of interaction of law-enforcement agencies against offences and crimes in the field of nature use. The meeting was held by the Prosecutor of the Republic of Tatarstan Ildus Nafikovwith participation of the Volga Interregional Nature Protection Prosecutor Veniamin Selifanov. The Minister for Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Artem Sidorov also participated in the work of the meeting.
The Minister for Ecology Artem Sidorovin his report acknowledged that efficacyofsupervisory measures carried out in the Republic are in direct relation with the level of interaction between nature protection supervisory authorities. According to Artem Sidorov, the accumulated experience of law enforcement practicein the field of environmental protection, a serious material and technical base and infrastructure with the most advanced eco-analytical equipment allow to carry out about 7 thousand control inspections on a yearly basis.This year, all in all, 6,027inspections of execution of the requirements of nature protection legislation were carried out, more than 5,318 violations were revealed, and 4,515 protocols were drawn up.Punitive sanctions were imposed to the total amount of 31,617,797rubles.According to the Minister, it is necessary to enhance the work on prevention of violations of water protection legislation consideringthe established boundaries of water protection areasand coastal protective stripes,state surveillance over geological survey, rational use and protection of mineral resources in the water areas of the rivers of the Republic of Tatarstan.
Later on, the state information systems “Ecological Map of the Republic of Tatarstan” and “People’s control” were presented in the technological parkin the field of high technologies “IT-park”to the Volga Interregional Nature Protection Prosecutor Veniamin Selifanov by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan.
