TheIXInterregional Research-to-practice conference “Industrial ecology and safety” was held in Kazan

The IX Interregional research-to-practice conference “Industrial ecology and safety” organized by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan was held today in Kazan in the frameworkof the Tatar Oil, Gas and Chemical Forum. Experts of the Institute for the Problems ofEcology andSubsurface Resources Management under the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan, department“Technosphere safety”of Pskov State University, department “Engineering structures and materials” of the Federal State Budgetary Educational Establishments of Higher Professional Education, State University – academic manufacturing complex of Orel, department of chemical technology and industrial ecologyof Samara State Technical University, Ural State Forest Engineering University of Yekaterinburg, representatives of largeindustrial companies of the Republic of Tatarstan participated in it.
Participants of the conference discussed relevant problems of state regulation in the field of nature protection and management of natural resources, as well as the most advanced scientific achievementsin the field of industrial ecology, their use in various industrial fields.
First Deputy Minister for Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustem Kamalov made an opening speech.He acknowledged that the most careful attention is paid to the issues regarding assurance of ecological safety in the Republic of Tatarstan. At present, 180 largest companies of the Republic boast their own ecological programsprovided with real financial support. The companies of the oil, gas and chemical complex pay special attention to the issues regarding environmental protection. The events of the ecological programs ensure decrease of the load on the environment in augmentation of productivity. In the oil, gas and chemical complex, the main ecological events and technological solutions are aimed at reduction of oil-containing wastes, purification of waste waters, and cleaning ofgas and air exhausts.Relevant attention is paid by the companies to recovery and processing of industrial wastes, as well as decrease in water consumption on the account of recurrentandrecycling water supply. Modern gas analysis equipment is used at the majority of petrochemical companies, and it allows to control the content of exhausts in the online mode.
Today, the unified local system of monitoring of the environment and, in the first place, of the air is created with assistance of companies.Automatic monitoring stationsof the Ministry of Ecology, departments ofthe Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring Agency andthe Federal Service on Surveillance for Consumer rights protection and human well-being, as well as all large companies are an integral part of the system, which ensures coverage of observations, openness and reliability of the information on the state of the environment.
Geo-informational technologies that allow to enhance efficacy of the state ecological surveillance and ensure online monitoring of the environmental components gained widespread currency.
