More than 20 thousand pupils of Tatarstan participated in the campaign “Unified Ecological Lesson”

The annual Republican ecological and educational campaign “Unified Ecological Lesson” that coincides with the International Day of ecological education was held on May 12, 2014 in educational establishments of the Republic of Tatarstan. The campaign was held for the fifth time and it was organized by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan together with the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tatarstan in cooperation with administrations of municipal districts and urban districts of the Republic of Tatarstan. Fellow workers of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Federal Veterinary and Phytosanitary Monitoring Service, the Federal Service on Surveillance for Consumer rights protection and human well-being, and the Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resource Usage for Tatarstan, Kazan Interdistrict Nature Protection Prosecutor’s Office, fellow workers of the Volga-Kama State Biosphere Nature Reserve, as well as active participants of public organizations acted as lecturers at the lesson.
A tour to the tree nursery of the Volga-Kama State Biosphere Nature Reserve was arranged in the framework of the campaign for pupils of the IT vocational boarding school under the Kazan (Volga) Federal University by the First Deputy Minister for Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustem Kamalov, and experts of the Volga-Kama State Biosphere Nature Reserve. Fellow workers of the Ministry organized practical training for the students of the Kazan (Volga) Federal University, during which the students familiarized with essentials of ecological monitoring. Moreover, quizzes, theatrical performances, cleaning of school territories and tree planting were organized at schools.
All in all, the “Unified ecological lesson” was held in the Republic of Tatarstan by efforts of involved participants and teachers at educational establishments of all municipal districts of the Republic. More than 20 thousand pupils of elementary-school age, as well as junior and senior pupils familiarized with the information on the state of the environment of the Republic of Tatarstan and the necessity to preserve it.
About 800 copies of such popular scientific and educational publications as “The Red Book of the Republic of Tatarstan”, the “Register of specially protected territories of the Republic of Tatarstan”, “Forest watch”, magazine “Ecology of Tatarstan”, “Zelenushka” and others were presented to the libraries of educational establishments.
