The Minister of Ecology Artem Sidorov took part in the Forum of adherents of the party “United Russia” (Edinaya Rossiya)

Today, the Forum of adherents of the Tatar Regional Division of the party “United Russia” and public organizations “WE ARE TOGETHER!” was held at the National Cultural Center “Kazan”. The Chairperson of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan, Secretary of the Tatar Regional Division of the party “United Russia”, Farid Mukhametshin, opened the event. According to Farid Mukhametshin, the main task of the event was to formulate the most burning issues for the citizens and to develop mechanisms of their solution.
The Minister for Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Artem Sidorov took part in the “Civil society” section as an expert. During his speech he acknowledged that the past year of 2013 gave a great impetus to the development of the ecological movement in the Republic of Tatarstan since it was the first year to be declared the Year for Environment Protection. Considering the fact that the level of ecological awareness and education of citizens is a decisive factor in the Republic of Tatarstan with regard to assurance of ecological well-being, the year 2013 was declared the Year for Ecological Culture and Nature Protection. The Minister told about annual general republican preventative nature protection events (such as “Clean Air”, “Clean Forests”, “Two-month Sanitary and Ecological Campaign”), as well as about large-scale campaigns aiming at ecological education of the young generation and fostering of awareness of the population in general (such as “Unified Ecological Lesson”, “Clear view”, “Day of water”). The Minister acknowledged successful implementation of the target program “Nature protection of Nizhnekamsk and Nizhnekamsk region for 2012-2015” adopted by the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan until 2015, and active interaction with companies of the Republic. As an example, Artem Sidorov cited the work with “Nefis Cosmetics” OAO that ceased emission of specific substances with disagreeable odor into the air following modernization of operating procedures. The Minister for Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, Artem Sidorov, informed that following the results of sociological researches conducted in 2013, the population in general evaluates the ecological situation in the Republic as favorable.
Proposals of public organizations of the Republic of Tatarstan, in particular, those regarding work with certification of sunken vessels, engagement of volunteers in detection of sites of unauthorized waste placement in horticultural societies, cleaning of coastal areas for development of mass recreation places and sites where young children will be taught to swim were discussed in the course of the Forum.
