The ХIV City Ecological Forum of Pupils “Zilant” commenced

The ХIV City Ecological Forum of Pupils “Zilant” started its work in Kazan. The event has been held since 2001 and it is aimed at introduction of a system approach to environment-oriented education and upbringing of pupils, as well as at formation of the unified information space in ecological education. The Central Territorial Department of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, Kazan Board of Education, Kazan Federal University and Kazan City Children’s Ecological and Biological Center were the organizers of “Zilant” this year.
The Forum includes 5 categories: research and development work (presentation of reports), artistic and applied work (express-expo of photographs, pictures and applied pieces of work), educational work (creative writing and wallpapers), mass organized work (the contest of propaganda teams), and nature protection activity. The work was evaluated by the jury consisting of the representatives of Kazan University and nature protection authorities.
The winners will be determined in April 2014. The awarding ceremony will be held in the framework of the Ecological Marathon at the premises of Kazan City Children’s Ecological and Biological Center.
Inspectors of the Central Department, together with representatives of the Kazan Interdistrict Environmental Prosecutor's Office and the Office of the Federal Service for State Registration, Cadastre and Cartography of the Republic of Tatarstan, conducted a survey of the territory of the Zelenodolsk district.
The events were held in the Zainsky district. The commission included inspectors from the Zakamsky Department of the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan.
The Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan received an appeal from residents about violations of environmental legislation in the Yelabuga district. Inspectors from the Kama Department went to the site and confirmed the fact of dumping production and consumption waste into the territory of the Bug River water protection zone.
