Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Ildar Khalikov, Head of the Department of the Federal Service for Supervision of Nature Resources for Volga Federal District Anatoly Shatalov, Head of the Administration of the Federal Service for Supervision of Nature Resources for the Republic of Tatarstan Farit Khayrutdinov, Minister for Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Artem Sidorov took part in the meeting. Participants familiarized with the exhibition of information and presentation platforms of companies and organizations, whereof the activity is aimed at implementation of projects in the field of ecology.
The meeting was opened by the Head of the Department of the Federal Service for Supervision of Nature Resources for Volga Federal District Anatoly Shatalov. In general, he favorably evaluated the work aimed at improvement of ecological situation in the Republic. Anatoly Shatalov acknowledged successful implementation of the target program on recycling of oil slurries. He emphasized that the program could serve as an example for the regions that lag behind in terms of this matter including the Republic of Bashkortostan and Samara Region. Head of the Department of the Federal Service for Supervision of Nature Resources for Volga Federal District cited arranging of the work on recycling of solid domestic waste as the most important task. All in all, there are 50 specialized landfills in the Republic of Tatarstan, but the work in this field should be enhanced, for instance, by creating the system based on modern technologies that would allow to sort and recycle waste.
The Minister for Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Artem Sidorov paid special attention in his report to the use of the system of summary calculations of air pollution. At present, the system has been almost fully developed for such large cities of the Republic as Kazan, Naberzhnye Chelny and Nizhnekamsk. In the nearest future, the Administration of the Federal Service for Supervision of Nature Resources for the Republic of Tatarstan will receive an instrument for establishment of normative standards of allowable emissions considering estimated background air pollution with regard to the whole list of pollutants emitted by municipal companies and motor vehicles. Artem Sidorov acknowledged that today 413 pollutants are actually emitted in Kazan, while only 18 of them are standardized. Use of the system of summary calculations will improve the efficiency of work on standardization leading to considerable reduction of air pollution in large cities and industrial centers of the Republic. Moreover, he told about successful implementation of the program for assurance of ecological safety of Nizhnekamsk industrial hub. The Minister for Ecology emphasized that Tatarstan is always eager to cooperate and learn from the experience of its neighbors, as well as to share its achievements with other regions.
Summarizing the results of the meeting, Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Ildar Khalikov thanked for hard work during the days of preparation for the Universiade 2013 and its holding. Moreover, he favorably estimated the work with large companies citing the agreement with the company “Nefis Cosmetics” that envisages cessation of emission of specific substances as an example. There are no problems in the Republic that presuppose short-term solutions, but there is a series of unsolved issues in the field of recycling of wastes and liquidation of accumulated damage. We will be able to solve these problems upon condition of joint cooperation, summarized Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Ildar Khalikov.
