The children from the Biosphere camp‑school were shown how the mobile environmental laboratory works.
The 31st session of the republican ecological camp‑school Biosphere is being held at the Duslyk children’s educational and recreation centre in Kazan. This year, it has brought together schoolchildren interested in ecology and natural sciences from Tatarstan, the Samara and Kaluga regions, as well as from Moscow.
The mobile environmental laboratory aroused particular interest among the children. Inspectors from the Ministry of Ecology demonstrated the modern equipment, explained how specialists test the quality of ambient air, and showed the process of taking measurements and analysing the data obtained.
Alina Zamaltdinova, head of the environmental education department, told the schoolchildren about the department’s projects, such as Ekovesna, Ekolider, and School Eco‑Patrol. She explained to the children how to take part in the contests and reminded them that everyone can contribute to nature conservation.
