The III Republican Forum of trade union activists "Working youth and public initiatives" was held in Kazan. The event, dedicated to Youth Day in Russia, gathered almost 500 participants. The organizers were the United Russia Public Support Headquarters in the Republic of Tatarstan and the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Tatarstan.
Olga Manidicheva, Deputy Minister of Ecology, made a presentation in the framework of the section "Environmental Initiatives in production". She told the participants about how the national project "Environmental well-being" is being implemented in the republic, and summed up the interim results of large-scale environmental work.
The speaker noted that all environmental projects in Tatarstan are based on a systematic approach that has proven its effectiveness. In 8 years, from 2018 to 2025, more than 1,300 environmental protection measures worth almost 107 billion rubles were implemented in the republic. The lion's share of these funds are investments of Tatarstan enterprises. Thanks to this work, it was possible to prevent environmental damage by 117 billion rubles and improve the quality of life for 3.5 million people.
The Deputy Minister stressed that the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Nurgalievich Minnikhanov, provides great support to all environmental protection measures. On his instructions, republican programs are being implemented, within the framework of which hydraulic structures are being built or overhauled, rivers and lakes are being cleaned.
She also spoke about the work on the revival of the population of the Red Book Saker falcon, which has been underway in Tatarstan since 2023 in support of the national project "Ecological well-being".
The Deputy Minister noted that any efforts would be incomplete without the participation of the residents themselves. Today, more than 35% of the republic's population — almost one and a half million people — are involved in environmental education programs.
