The Minister of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan, Azat Ziganshin, delivered a welcoming speech from the Rais of Tatarstan to the participants of the All-Russian Congress "Water of Russia".
The event is taking place in Naberezhnye Chelny, which this year celebrates the 400th anniversary of its founding.
The appeal, read out by the minister, emphasizes that Tatarstan is rightfully considered one of the key water regions of the country. It is here that two great rivers, the Volga and the Kama, merge, forming a significant part of the Russian water system. In addition, the Kuibyshev reservoir, one of the largest in Eurasia, is located on the territory of the republic. In total, there are more than 36,000 water bodies in the region, and the preservation of this unique heritage is a shared responsibility to future generations.
Special attention was paid in the welcoming speech to the environmental movement, which today unites millions of caring people. In Tatarstan, this work has acquired a truly nationwide character: it involves public organizations, industrial enterprises, government authorities and volunteers of all ages. Thanks to the active position of the residents, the republic has been the leader of the Russian Water Campaign for several years in a row.
Holding the congress in Naberezhnye Chelny, where a powerful industrial potential has developed and high environmental standards have been introduced, gives the event special importance. On behalf of the Rais of Tatarstan, Azat Ziganshin wished the forum participants constructive cooperation, new ideas and thanked them for their caring and responsible attitude to the environment.
"Welcome to Tatarstan!" concluded the welcoming address to the guests and delegates of the congress.
