Inspectors from the Central Department of the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan took part in comprehensive oil spill response exercises

Comprehensive exercises aimed at working out actions in case of emergency oil spills were held in the Vysokogorsky district of the Republic of Tatarstan. The commission included inspectors from the Central Department of the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The exercises were held for employees of the LUKOIL-Uralnefteproduct limited liability company at the site of an oil depot for the storage and transshipment of oil and petroleum products in the village of Biryuli. Employees of the professional emergency rescue formation of the RegionSpas Limited Liability Company and representatives of the fire and rescue unit No. 113 also participated in the oil spill response event.

According to legend, the oil tank was depressurized. 6758 cubic meters of oil products were spilled. There was a threat of contamination of the territory of LUKOIL-Uralnefteproduct LLC. The exercises were held in two stages. First, the notification of services, evacuation and fencing of the danger zone were practiced. Then the participants of the exercises began to eliminate the conditional spill: they cordoned off the territory with special equipment, stopped the spread of petroleum products. As a result of well-coordinated work, the spill was localized and eliminated.

As a result of the exercise, the high readiness of personnel and sufficient forces and resources to eliminate a major oil spill were confirmed. Conditional incidents have been eliminated, and the work of the participants has been assessed as "satisfactory".
