Earlier, the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan received an appeal from residents about the discharge of wastewater in Yelabuga. Inspectors of the Kama department went to the place on Chulman Street.

During the inspection of the territory, the violation was confirmed. Environmentalists have identified a reinforced concrete well from which sewage was discharged onto the terrain. The area of the contaminated site was 26 sq.m.

Specialists from the Environmental Supervision Department took soil samples from polluted and clean soil areas for comparison. According to the results of laboratory tests at the discharge site, excess chloride ions were detected by 1.5 times, nitrogen of nitrites by 3.6 times, and the total content of bivalent and trivalent iron by 15.8 times.

The inspectors calculated the amount of damage caused to the soil. It amounted to 132 thousand rubles. The land plot is owned by an individual.

Environmentalists have sent a warning and a complaint to the violator. The discharge from the well stopped, but the amount of damage was not paid.

The Kama Department appealed to the Yelabuga City Court of the Republic of Tatarstan with a statement of claim. The court approved the Ministry's demands and ordered the landowner to pay the amount of damage.
