Today, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan hosted an open New Year's Eve meeting with journalists, which lasted almost two hours. The Minister of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan, Alexander Shadrikov, spoke in detail about the results of the department's work over eight years, emphasizing that the entire environmental policy of the Republic is aimed at improving the quality of life of people.
"Human beings are at the center of all our projects, programs, and solutions," Alexander Shadrikov emphasized. — We are not working for the sake of figures in reports, but for the sake of the health, comfort and well-being of Tatarstan residents. Every action we take, every ruble we invest, is a contribution to clean air, safe water and a healthy environment for our families."
Investing in the environment — investing in people
Over the past eight years, 106 billion rubles have been invested in environmental projects in the republic, of which 74 billion are funds from enterprises. "This is not just an investment in technology, it is a direct investment in the future of our children, in the health of our parents, and in the comfort of every family," the minister said. "When a business voluntarily invests in landfill remediation, sewage treatment plant modernization, or new filtration systems, this is the best indicator of maturity and social responsibility."
From complaints to quality of life
Special attention was paid at the meeting to working with citizens' appeals. "Our goal is not just to respond to the appeal, but to eliminate the cause," said Alexander Shadrikov. — We have moved from the logic of reaction to the logic of warning. So that there are fewer complaints and more trust."
The minister gave an example of systematic work in the northern part of Kazan, where the number of air quality complaints decreased by 3 times over the year, and the maximum permissible concentration exceeded by 8 times.
The head of the environmental protection agency also spoke in more detail about the digital platform of the ecology industry. It is designed to effectively help people. "The digital platform of the environmental industry has repeatedly won various competitions. We have combined three information subsystems, which allows us to access the source and carry out surveillance activities. Every violator must be punished."
Water is the basis of life
Speaking about water resources, the minister noted: "The Kuibyshev reservoir is not just a monitoring facility, it is a source of drinking water, the basis of the ecosystem, part of the lives of thousands of people. We are doing everything to preserve this resource for present and future generations."
The Water of Russia campaign, where Tatarstan has been ranked first for the fifth year in a row, is, according to the speaker, "an indicator of how people unite for a common goal: clean water, beautiful shores, and a safe environment for recreation."
Openness and trust
"We don't hide the problems. We are talking about them openly, because this is the only way to find a solution," the minister stressed. — The trust of the residents is our main value. We work for people, together with people and in the interests of people."
At the end of the meeting, Alexander Shadrikov thanked everyone who participates in the environmental work of the republic: "We have come a long way in eight years. But our main achievement is not numbers, but a change in attitude towards the environment. Today, every resident of Tatarstan understands that a clean environment is the foundation of a quality of life. And we will do everything to ensure that this foundation is solid and reliable. Because ecology is, first of all, caring for people, and ecology unites us all."
