The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan hosted a traditional New Year's Eve meeting, where representatives of the largest environmental organizations of the republic summed up the results of the past year and discussed plans for the future. The event was attended by activists of the Youth Environmental Movement "It will be clean", the Russian Geographical Society in Tatarstan and the Movement of Young Naturalists.
Welcoming the guests, Alexander Shadrikov, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, noted the enormous contribution of public organizations to the preservation of Tatarstan's natural resources and the formation of an ecological culture.
Dilara Satikova, Chairman of the It Will Be Clean movement, presented the results of the organization's work for 2025. Activists organized 857 environmental awareness events, 365 clean-up days for landscaping, 72 campaigns to collect recyclables, 62 campaigns to protect animals and 52 tree planting events.
The movement has already been awarded a student quality mark for its contribution to the patriotic education of young people and the formation of an ecological culture. The guys entered the top 10 youth organizations within the framework of the Yashlek Award.
The senior mentors also shared their successes. Dmitry Shiller, chairman of the regional branch of the Russian Geographical Society, said that in 2025, 10 large-scale environmental campaigns were held with the participation of more than 1,050 people. The head of the Tatarstan Regional Geographical Society paid special attention to the "Free Current" project, implemented jointly with the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan and in support of the national project "Environmental well-being". During the year, 22 blockages were dismantled, and in total, 77 blockages were dismantled and 32 km of the river were traversed during the three years of the project.
The most important achievement in the field of biodiversity conservation was the work on the revival of the Volga-Kama Saker Falcon population: in 2025, for the first time in 50 years, two falcons were born in Tatarstan.
The movement of Young Naturalists of Tatarstan, created in 2018 on the initiative of the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan, today unites more than 2,300 young environmentalists. In 2025, the republican meeting of young scientists was held, which brought together 320 participants from 19 districts of the republic.
Unnats are actively engaged in scientific research, studying eco-trails, developing ecological routes and monitoring the condition of natural objects. A large-scale development of the movement in 49 environmental associations in 32 districts of the republic is planned for 2026.
In the coming year, environmental organizations plan to form a team of professional eco-educators and develop a volunteer movement in specially protected natural areas. An important area will be the creation of an environmental media community.
Among the key projects of 2026 are the program for curators of departments, the republican contest "EQUEST", the project "ECOculture" and the initiative "Green Code of Tatarstan". Profile shifts, ecological landings, educational campaigns, eco-tours on natural attractions of the republic and creation of an interactive game on the Red Book of Tatarstan are also planned. The Minister of Ecology wished all participants of the meeting success in the New Year and new creative projects.
