KFU summed up the results of the year of the regional branch of the Russian Geographical Society in the Republic of Tatarstan

Nail Nazarov, Head of the Department of Mineral Resources and Water Resources of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, took part in the meeting.

He congratulated the representatives of the Russian Geographical Society on the 180th anniversary of the organization and thanked each volunteer for their great contribution to the protection and protection of the environment.

Dmitry Shiller, Chairman of the regional branch of the Russian Geographical Society in the Republic of Tatarstan, made a report on the activities of the regional branch of the Russian Geographical Society in 2025. During this time, 12 scientific and practical conferences were organized, where more than 1,000 schoolchildren participated.

Dmitry Shiller noted in the results of the year the projects implemented jointly with the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan and in support of the national project "Ecological well-being". These are the development of the Yunnaty movement in the Republic of Tatarstan, the revival of the Volga-Kama Saker Falcon population and the Free Current project.
  
He also shared his plans for 2026. The purpose of further projects is to continue the main activity and implement environmental protection projects. Scientific and practical conferences are planned for schoolchildren and representatives of the Yunnaty movement of the Republic of Tatarstan, competitions and educational events within the framework of the project "Not a Geography lesson", purification of reservoirs of the Republic, organization of exhibitions, excursions and much more.

At the end of the meeting, letters of thanks and gifts from the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic of Tatarstan were presented to members of the RGS branch and volunteers who are most actively involved in the activities of the society.
