Earlier, as part of the monitoring of Menzelinsk, inspectors from the Kama Department identified unauthorized waste storage in the town. The total area of the violation was 5,897 square meters, the volume was 8,845 cubic meters, and the height of the piles was up to 3 meters.
Environmentalists have calculated the amount of damage caused to the soil. The amount of damage amounted to 3 million 606 thousand rubles.
A warning and a letter of complaint were sent to the Executive Committee of the Menzelinsky district. But the amount of damage remained unpaid.
The Kama Department appealed to the Arbitration Court of the Republic of Tatarstan. After demanding that the unauthorized placement be eliminated, both parties entered into an amicable agreement in order to resolve and terminate the dispute in the case.
The liquidation of the landfill was included in the list of environmental protection measures implemented at the expense of the district budget revenues from environmental payments. At the moment, work has been completed on the territory of the city to eliminate the unauthorized landfill.
During the events held:
- the territory has been completely cleared;
- over 5,000 seedlings have been planted;
- a video monitoring system has been deployed with the installation of 5 surveillance cameras;
- warning full houses have been placed.
